YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday issued a letter of condolence to Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

Sargsyan extended the message in connection with the plane crash in Kazan, Russia, which claimed dozens of lives.

In his message, the President of Armenia expressed his deepest condolences on the crash of a Tatarstan Airlines aircraft, which killed its passengers and cabin crew, and he conveyed his sincere words of grief and support to the families and friends of the victims.

To note, a Tatarstan Airlines airplane heading from Moscow to Kazan crashed Sunday while landing at Kazan Airport at 3:25pm GMT. Fifty people, including six crew members on board, were killed.

Iker Minnikhanov, the son of President Rustam Minnikhanov of Tatarstan, was confirmed to be on board of the Boeing 737 that crashed in central Russia, Gazeta.ru reported.

According to the Russian media, head of the Tatarstan office of the Federal Security Service Alexander Antonov and the wife of famous sport journalist Roman Skvortsov were on board, too.
