YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will promote Armenian business by way of increasing the “clean” salaries, Government Chief of Staff-Minister Vache Gabrielyan stated on Monday.

Gabrielyan added that the problem of specifying the actual amount of a salary arises everywhere where unemployment exceeds 10 percent. But, as per the chief of staff-minister, the Armenian government has developed several tools, owing to which businesses will be interested in presenting the actual amount of salaries.

“We have a task of maintaining the previous level of salaries. For this reason, [and] following the introduction of the new cumulative pension plan, the employers will have to maintain their salary funds at least at last year’s level,” Vache Gabrielyan said, in particular.

And in response to a query by the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter, Finance Minister Davit Sargsyan informed that, at present, the Government does not have any assessments on shadow employment.

To note, the mandatory cumulative pension plan will come into effect in Armenia on January 1.
