YEREVAN. – The public knows nothing about Tuesday’s meeting in Austria between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Opposition Armenian National Congress bloc National Assembly (ANC NA) Faction leader, Armenian National Congress Party Vice-Chairman Levon Zurabyan told the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday. 

With regard to the fact that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had assessed the meeting as “normal,” Zurabyan expressed doubt as to why they should believe a man whom they have never believed and who has misled the public in diplomatic matters. 

But the ANC NA Faction leader underscored the resumption of talks even in the case of “illegitimate presidents.” 

“Perhaps they [i.e., the talks] are ineffective, but [they are] important for the maintenance of peace,” Levon Zurabyan concluded.
