YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA) speaker’s official visit to Brazil will give new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Henrique Eduardo Alves, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, stated the aforesaid Wednesday during his talk with NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, who is in Brazil on an official visit.
Alves gave a high assessment to the present-day level of the friendly ties between the two countries, informs the NA press service. In addition, he attached a great importance to interparliamentary relations.
In turn, Abrahamyan noted that there are cordial relations between Armenia and Brazil. In his words, the establishment of even closer relations between the two countries will create ample opportunities for multilateral cooperation.
Reflecting on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Henrique Eduardo Alves stated that the Brazilian authorities have adopted a neutral stance with respect to the conflict settlement, and they support the respective efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group.
Hovik Abrahamyan invited Henrique Eduardo Alves to an official visit to Armenia, and the Brazilian official gladly accepted the invitation.
Following the formal meeting, the Armenian National Assembly speaker and the president of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies signed a protocol on cooperation between the two parliaments.
In addition, Hovik Abrahamyan signed the book of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies’ guests of honor and toured the chamber.
