YEREVAN. – Armenian-Kuwaiti relations are at a high level, and the Armenian nation’s common history with the Arab world is its vivid proof.  

Mayor Taron Margaryan of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan stated the aforesaid Thursday at a meeting with a visiting Kuwaiti delegation, led by Governor Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait City. 

Margaryan expressed a conviction that this visit will take relations between the two countries to a new level.  

“Given the example of our countries, I am confident that we, too, will establish bilateral relations between the two capital cities,” the Yerevan mayor stressed. 

For his part, the Kuwait City governor underscored Margaryan’s willingness to expand cooperation between the two cities.

“There is great potential for cooperation between the two capital cities, and we likewise stand ready to establish relations with Yerevan. Yerevan and Kuwait City will sign a respective agreement,” Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber Al-Sabah stressed, in particular.   

The mayor of Yerevan also highlighted the need to conduct investment programs with the business circles.

“The Municipality of Yerevan stands ready to discuss cooperation programs and assist in their implementation,” Taron Margaryan added.  

The parties agreed to set up a working group that will prepare the cooperation agreement which Yerevan and Kuwait City officials will sign in the future.
