YEREVAN. – The reliable sources of Zhoghovurd daily inform that President and ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Chairman Serzh Sargsyan held a consultation with representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the country, the daily reports.

“It primarily related to RF [i.e., Russian Federation] President Vladimir Putin’s [forthcoming] visit to Armenia.

“[During the consultation] Sargsyan noted that they [i.e., the law enforcement agencies] need to be very alert, work to the maximum these days, especially since there are words that major protests will be organized during Putin’s visit. Sargsyan instructed the NSS [i.e., the National Security Service] to prevent uncontrolled processes in advance.

“Zhoghovurd attempted to verify this information from RPA spokesperson [and National Assembly Deputy Speaker] Eduard Sharmazanov. [But] he said that there is no such thing. ‘I believe such claims are ridiculous.’

“And NSS spokesperson Artsvin Baghramyan told us that he has no such information,” Zhoghovurd writes.
