YEREVAN. – “Again the very same Sabah, again the very same diplomatic source, [and] again the very same single-step and myopic Turkish combination.”
Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said the abovementioned in reaction to the Turkish Sabah daily’s information concerning the Armenian troops’ possible withdrawal from two regions in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
“But there is an interesting development in all this. If in the past Sabah’s diplomatic source was speaking about five regions, now, however, a drastic lessening is observed in the Turkish-Azerbaijani ‘appetite,’ and, now, their diplomatic source speaks about withdrawal from two regions.
“If the appetite lessens at this rate, Sabah’s diplomatic source may inform in the next article that there is no issue of withdrawal from any region,” Sharmazanov stated, in particular.
To note, Sabah daily of Turkey, referring to its diplomatic sources, had claimed that the Armenian government had reached a verbal agreement with Azerbaijan on withdrawing its troops from two NKR regions, and that Turkey was demanding from Armenia to make an official statement.
