YEREVAN. – A discussion, titled “Armenia and the European Union [EU],” was held Wednesday at the Embassy of Armenia in Denmark.

The event brought together representatives from the Embassy of Austria in Denmark and NGOs plus university students, informs the Armenian MFA press service.

In his remarks, Armenian Ambassador Hrachya Aghajanyan noted that Armenia attached great importance to its first-ever chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE). Subsequently, the diplomat listed the priorities of, and the significant events held during, Armenia’s chairmanship.  

Next, Michael Aastrup Jensen, vice chairman of the Danish delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), reflected on the history of Armenian-Danish relations. 

For his part, Austrian Ambassador Ernst-Peter Brezovsky congratulated Armenia on a very successful chairmanship, and presented Austria’s priorities as the new chairing country of the CoE Committee of Ministers.
