YEREVAN. – Armenian has been, is and must be with Russia while Nagorno-Karabakh, owing to Russia and other member states of the Customs Union, is in good hands.
Tachat Sargsyan, Acting First Secretary of the Communist Party of Armenia (CPA) Central Committee, noted the aforesaid at a press conference on Friday.
In Sargsyan’s words, the CPA has welcomed President Serzh Sargsyan’s decision to join the Customs Union.
“At present, the Armenian communists’ task is to do everything possible for Armenia’s speedy accession to the Customs Union,” Tachat Sargsyan added.
To note, following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. Aside from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan likewise are members in the Customs Union. To remind, Kazakhstan is known for its pro-Azerbaijani position ns with respect to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
