YEREVAN. – The Police of Armenia confirmed the news about carrying out an administrative detainment against several activists. 

The administrative detainment was conducted against five activists on Monday morning, and they were brought to Kentron Police Department of capital city Yerevan, the Police news service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

A report was prepared, according to which they had  committed an administrative offense.

The Police News Service also informed that the officers of the law had visited the home of activist Ani Kaghinyan to take her to the police station, they had knocked on the door, but no one opened the door, so they had left the premises.   

To note, at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Armenia on Monday. First, Putin will visit Gyumri and, subsequently, he will arrive in capital city Yerevan. Several Armenian initiatives and activists plan to carry out, on the same day, a variety of protests against Putin’s visit, and the police are detaining numerous activists since early morning.
