YEREVAN. – The representatives of Armenia’s information technology (IT) sector gathered in front of the National Assembly (NA) building on Monday.

The IT representatives were awaiting the decision on whether or not the NA will discuss the matter on the mandatory cumulative pension plan, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs.

The police, however, informed them that a state event—that is, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit—will be held Monday and, for security reasons, the law enforcement officers told them to leave the premises. They also suggested the demonstrators to come back Tuesday.

In addition, the police removed a vehicle from the area.

The IT representatives had brought along black balloons. They noted that if things in Armenia continue in the same way, these balloons will symbolize their future.

Subsequently, MPs Artsvik Minasyan and Naira Zohrabyan came out of the parliament building and informed the demonstrators that the NA voting on whether to discuss the aforesaid matter will take place Tuesday.
