GYUMRI. – Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin on Monday were on hand at the official ceremony of redeeming postage stamps devoted to the 2014 Winter Olympics to be held in Sochi, Russia.
The two respective postage stamps depict the two sports—namely, Cross-Country Skiing and Alpine Skiing—in which Armenia will compete in the Sochi Olympics.
To note, at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin is paying a state visit to Armenia on Monday. First, Putin is visiting Gyumri and, subsequently, he will arrive in capital city Yerevan. But several Armenian initiatives and activists are carrying out a variety of protests against Putin’s visit.
