After the Polish President’s plane crash, Turkey directed attention to the fact that Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan come on different boards.

Last time Gul and Erdogan flied from Ankara to Istanbul in taking separate planes to attend the burial service of Professor Sabahattin Zaim, Turkish Aksam newspaper reports. A tradition to enplane separately was broken in 2004, when Gul as Foreign Minister returned from Germany.

Gul and Erdogan are the founders and leaders of Turkish ruling “Justice and Development” Party.
