YEREVAN. – A total of 300 new hotel rooms will open next year in capital city of Yerevan, Armenian Hotel Association Chairman Hakob Hakobyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, a hotel room can be found in Yerevan for any budget, and the hotels in the city have increased and their price range has expanded in the past several years.

A total of 550 more hotel rooms are available in Yerevan in the last one to two years. Their overall number is close to 5,000, or twice as much than five to six years ago.

In Hakobyan’s words, in November, the average price for a hotel room in Yerevan was Armenian drams equivalent to approximately $100 per night, including breakfast.

“The [hotel] rooms are more than the demand, and therefore the prices have slightly reduced,” he stressed.

Hakob Hakobyan added, however, that no one dictates the prices and they are determined by the cost price and the market.
