YEREVAN. – The attempts to fish in troubled waters will be punished, the Central Bank chairman Arthur Javadyan said commenting on Armenian dram depreciation.
He called not to make speculation-based foreign currency exchange.
“I mean deals made only because of expectations from currency fluctuations. Those trying to fish in troubled waters will be punished,” he emphasized.
Javadyan assured the Central Bank has enough mechanisms to control financial markets.
The Armenian dram depreciated by over 10 percent since November 24.
