YEREVAN. – As a result of the Azerbaijani side’s frequent ceasefire violations in the Karabakh conflict zone, there was a regression in the conflict settlement process.
The Head of the Political Affairs Bureau and the Armenian Cause Office of the Armenian opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party, Giro Manoyan, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
In his words, three important events occurred this year in terms of Armenia’s foreign policy.
“First, naturally, is Armenia’s [forthcoming] accession to the [Russia-led] Eurasian Economic Union. But all these processes should be considered also against the backdrop of the events in Ukraine.
“Second are the Azerbaijani side’s frequent ceasefire violations and various sabotage operations, which have created a quite tense situation.
“And the third important event, which is not directly linked with Armenia although it can be said that it is occurring in our region, is the events in Syria, especially, the challenges which that country’s Armenian community faces,” Manoyan concluded.
