Eurasian Economic Union will hold consultations to launch negotiations with Uzbekistan on creation of a free trade zone, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
His statement came after talks with the president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, Gazeta reported.
Earlier on Wednesday Russia and Uzbekistan signed an agreement regulating mutual financial commitments, according to which Russia agreed to write off most of Uzbekistan's $890 million debt.
