Arax Armenian choir on Friday will perform, in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo, the best hits of world-renowned French-Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, public activist, and diplomat Charles Aznavour.
The Egyptian-Armenian minority, which according to estimates does not exceed 6,000 people in Cairo and Alexandria, is particularly active in presenting their culture through different art forms, Ahram Online reported. The Arax Choir is one of such outlets, and it holds concerts on regular occasions.
In the 1990s, the choir was originally named Zvartnots. But in 2003, it was renamed by its new conductor and artistic director, Mihran Ghazelian.
