YEREVAN. – Armenia-Ukraine relations are developing despite decrease in trade turnover volume, Ukraine's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told reporters.

The trade turnover reached $210 million as a result of 2014 -- a $13 million fall as compared with the previous year, which Ambassador explains by global economic crisis.

The diplomat emphasized that Armenia's joining Eurasian Economic Union and Ukraine's association with EU must not become an obstacle to development of relations.

“Both countries benefit from development of relations. We are planning to hold a meeting of intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation this year,” the Ambassador added.

He noted the need to normalize the legal framework in the context of Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Union and association of Ukraine so that turnover volume could not decrease.
