FIDE has decided to organize the World Champion's Candidates' Matches in Kazan, Russia in spring, 2011, armchess,am website reports. The eight qualifiers will fight in the knock-out system. 4 games will be played in the quarter-final and semi-final, 6 games-in the final.

The pairings of the first round are as follows:
Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria)-Gata Kamsky (USA)
Magnus Carlsen (Norway)-Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan)
Vladimir Kramnik (Russia)-Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan)
Levon Aronian (Armenia)-Boris Gelfand (Israel)

In case of victory over Gelfand, Levon Aronian will play with the winner of the pair Topalov-Kamsky in the semi-final.
