YEREVAN. - Several Armenian MPs who formed a human shield between the police and protestors in Baghramyan Avenue have met with Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan.

Following the meeting, MP Hovhannes Margaryan said that during their talk with Gasparyan the latter has urged him to go to the protestors blocking Mashtots Avenue and tell them to open the traffic. According to the MP, the Chief of Police has even sworn that the police will not open Baghramyan Avenue by force.  

While ago Vladimir Gasparyan furiously yelled at MP Margaryan, urging to come to senses, while Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan announced that they had found an armed person among the protestors.  

The situation in Baghramyan Avenue is tense at the moment. Street lights were off and then again on in the Avenue. Mashtots Avenue is again open.

Following the use of force by the police Tuesday morning, people have gathered again and are continuing their sit-in in Baghramyan Avenue, their number rapidly increasing.
