A United Airlines captain threw bullets in a trash bin accessible to passengers and later flushed them down a toilet on board a flight that he was piloting to Germany, reported the New York Daily News.

It is noted that the pilots in the US are allowed to carry a gun on domestic flights under a post-9/11 federal program intended to make planes harder to hijack.

The said pilot had realized that he had bullets in his bag on a flight from Houston to Munich. Germany has strict gun laws.

United Airlines announced that even though the pilot should not have done such a thing, hardly any charges will be pressed against him, reported Gazeta.
