Turkish soldiers that had gone on an operation in Yüksekova—a Kurdish-populated district in Hakkari Province—against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militia, have suffered numerous casualties and injuries.
On Sunday evening, the Turkish army launched operations against the Kurdish militia in Dağlıca mountainous terrain, reported the Turkish media.
During the operation, however, the PKK militants detonated two armored military vehicles, in which there were the regiment commander and eleven soldiers.
Subsequently, Turkish special forces were dispatched to the area. But some of them, according to reports, were taken prisoners by the Kurdish militants.
Social networking website users claim that, according to reliable information, 37 Turkish soldiers were killed, and 12 members of the special forces ware taken prisoners.
