YEREVAN. – The decline in the exchange rate of the Russian ruble makes numerous residents of Armenia ponder whether the same will happen with the Armenian dram, especially since the exchange rate of the US dollar is rising in Armenia on a regular basis.
Since the exchange rate of the dram is fluctuating, perhaps the problem needs to be resolved by way of the supply-demand ratio in the currency market.
Foreign trade balance also plays a significant role in this context.
In terms of price, Armenia has imported two times more goods than it has exported.
To note, the decline in exports—by 1.3 percent, unlike the drop in imports—by 27.2 percent, was just symbolic.
We hope that the strengthening of the dollar in Armenia will take place within the framework of global trends.
