YEREVAN. - The court will question additional witnesses regarding the case of causing a moderately grave injury to a patient through the use of a wrong injection, Varduhi Elbakyan, the attorney for the defendant ophthalmologist Anna Gasparyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to her, Yerevan’s Chief Ophthalmologist Artashes Zilfyan, Armenian Health Ministry Chief Ophthalmologist Alexander Malayan and “Normed” Medical Centre ophthalmologist, Professor Alla Hovhannisyan will be questioned.

The next hearing will be held on September 17.

Prosecutor Anna Knyazyan insists that Anna Gasparyan did her a wrong injection, as a result of which her eye swelled and became slant. Re-examination confirmed that the prosecutor’s health issues had emerged due to the wrong injection. But the accused insists she did everything correctly and doesn’t agree with the results of the expert examination.  

Anna Gasparyan is charged under Article 130 (1) of the Criminal Code.
