YEREVAN. – The tension is maintained on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and Azerbaijan’s Line of Contact with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

Former Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Arman Navasardyan, stated the aforesaid at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) cannot resolve any matter, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should have intervened and done something, since the Tavush Province of Armenia was being shelled by Azerbaijan.

“Today, neither Russia nor any third country would open a second front in the Caucasus,” noted Navasardyan. “Even if Turkey would not take that step, since there is war in Syria, and the second war today is in Europe,” considering the migration crisis, and Islamist militants penetrating into Europe. 

“Turkey’s role will never grow in the Minsk Group,” added Arman Navasardyan. “No one will allow this to it.”
