YEREVAN. – It is time that all Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, including Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan which have close ties with Azerbaijan, realize that any threat to the borders of CSTO member Republic of Armenia (RA) should be perceived as a threat to the interests of the CSTO.

Khosrov Harutyunyan, a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction, noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

In his words, there is a special procedure within the CSTO with respect to the cases when the organization can intervene in a given situation.

“RA President Serzh Sargsyan, during the [recent] meeting [in Moscow] with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, said the situation on the [Armenia-Azerbaijan] border has aggravated,” recalled Harutyunyan. “But he [i.e. Sargsyan] will speak about that separately in [the Tajik capital city of] Dushanbe, during the CSTO summit.”

The RPA NA Faction member added, however, that each of the three CSTO subregions seems to be concerned about its own problems.
