A talk between the MPs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) and Belgium was held Thursday in the NKR National Assembly (NA).

Speaker of the NKR NA, Ashot Ghulyan, stressed that Artsakh highly praises contacts and relations with the state institutions of countries with an exemplary system of values. He noted that, for the NKR, such ties are vital in terms of the improvement of institutions and the development of democracy in the republic.

Head of the Belgian parliamentary delegation, Julie De Groote, for her part, underscored their visit to Artsakh in the context of receiving complete information and finding a possible option for the development of relations with their colleagues.

In the ensuing exchange of views, the Belgian MPs asked about the positions of the NKR NA political parties regarding democratic processes in Artsakh, course of the Karabakh peace talks being conducted under the auspices of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and on several other matters.
