YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily has learned that in late September, the Russian state-owned Inter RAO UES Company, which is the proprietor of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC, was to sell 50 percent of the ENA shares to Moscow-based Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, and he was to assume the management of ENA, reported the daily.

“Subsequently, Karapetyan was to become the 100-percent proprietor of ENA.

“But since yesterday [i.e. Friday], the Armenian ‘Electromaidan’ seems to be repeating, [but] this time under adverse conditions and situation for the authorities.

“Therefore, it is difficult to imagine that the company belonging to Karapetyan would [now] be prepared to take on this burden,” wrote Zhamanak.
