Forty children in Zarinja village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia on Friday were absent from school due to poisoning, but the education process was not suspended in the village school.

Zarinja prefect Sevada Manukyan told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Chief Epidemiologist Ara Asoyan, specialists from the state sanitary station, [and] the provincial hall visited the village,” added Manukyan. “We visited all those [who were] poisoned one by one, they checked the state of their health, and free medication was provided.”

He noted that the poisoned children’s health condition is not serious, and they were not hospitalized.

The village mayor also informed that the causes for this poisoning are not yet known, but water and food samples have been sent for testing.

As reported earlier, dozens of cases of mass poisoning have been recorded throughout Armenia between Wednesday and Friday.

The experts are still trying to determine the causes. Criminal cases have already been filed on several of these cases.
