Artak, who was beaten by Azerbaijanis in Volgograd, Russia, underwent surgery, he is doing fine, but, needless to say, he is outraged.
Chairman of the Volgograd Chapter of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), Arman Mkrtchyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The said Armenian youth’s jaw, hand, and ribs were broken, and he had narrowly escaped death.
In Mkrtchyan’s words, however, there is no ethnic issue involved, and just a domestic dispute had occurred.
But as per the UAR official, there will be an arrest, since a person had died during this incident.
“They beat up the boy with five people, and he fired shots in a semi-conscious state,” he noted. “He doesn’t remember how it happened.”
Arman Mkrtchyan added that a criminal case has been instituted on charges of murder.
On September 13, Azerbaijanis living in Dagestan had started a brawl in a karaoke bar in Volgograd, and beaten up an Armenian youth—by the name of Artak—with five people. But this young man had managed to pick up a rifle from the car and fire shots in self-defense. Azerbaijani Eduard Chiriev, 24, however, had died during the fight.
