Renowned Turkish writer and Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk, speaking to Cumhuriyet daily of Turkey, harshly criticized the Turkish authorities’ current policy that contributes to a war.
Pamuk stressed that people should not expect peace after the forthcoming early parliamentary election in Turkey—and which is slated for November 1, and noted that there are still two months before this voting.
He added that if this continues, everything will have a very cruel end. Pamuk called for peace, and highlighted that the Kurdish party had expressed respective willingness.
Orhan Pamuk also made a statement that would enrage Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He noted that the country’s authorities should not think that a war will increase their votes.
