YEREVAN. – The government is not concerned that once the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC is sold, it will share the fate of Nairit chemical plant in capital city of Yerevan.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yervand Zakharyan, told about the aforesaid to reporters, and after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.
“Today, it was assigned to examine all submitted documents, [and] the sales contract,” said Zakharyan. “Comprehensive answers will be given to the remaining questions some time later.”
And to the query on whether the new—and higher—electricity tariff may be reviewed after the sale of the ENA, the minister responded that the new electricity prices are already in force, but the government will announce its final position after the completion of the respective ongoing study.
