YEREVAN. – Gagik Tsarukyan has no connection with Liormand Holdings Limited, in general, and the sale of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC, in particular.
Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party former Chairman and oligarch MP Gagik Tsarukyan’s spokesperson, Iveta Tonoyan, on Friday issued a respective statement.
“Gagik Tsarukyan has never had and does not have the wish to purchase the ENA in part, or in full,” the statement also specifically reads.
It was noted earlier that the Government of Armenia plans to sell the entire shares of ENA to Liormand Holdings Limited, which is registered in Cyprus.
And Haykakan Zhamanak daily had reported that it is known who will become the new proprietor of the ENA.
“It became clear several months ago that Tashir Group founder, Moscow-based [Armenian] businessman Samvel Karapetyan, will purchase the ENA.
“[But] yesterday [i.e. Thursday], we learned that Samvel Karapetyan will not buy the ENA by himself, albeit he will be the owner of the main parts of the shares [of this company].
“According to the reliable information we have, ArmRusGazprom [natural gas company] former Director Karen Karapetyan, Gagik Tsarukyan, and former NA [i.e. Armenian National Assembly] MP Harutyun Pambukyan also will become ENA shareholders,” had written Haykakan Zhamanak.
