YEREVAN. – Representative of Armenia's ruling party called not to give in the passions of the Azerbaijani media speculating on the story of Vahan Martirosyan.

Head of Armenian NGO Vahan Martirosyan, together with his wife, gave a media conference in Baku and expressed willingness to attract international community's attention “to the criminal regime in Armenia” with the help of “Azerbaijani media”.

“One should not rely on the Azerbaijani media reports. Let's wait for formal information. We will issue a statement then,” Vahan Baghdasaryan, head of RPA faction, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

However, it should be noted that Vahan Martirosyan, who fled to Azerbaijan, has chosen not the right country to seek asylum in. Several days ago Azerbaijan decided to withdraw from Euronest Parliamentary Assembly not being able to stand constructive criticism by the European Parliament that slammed Baku for crackdown on human rights.
