YEREVAN. – The European Union (EU) has tools which Armenia’s communities can use to implement some programs.

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia, Vache Terteryan, stated the aforesaid at Friday’s forum of the Conference of Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP).

In his words, and by way of CORLEAP, the respective existing challenges are addressed within the EU.

“This is somewhat the parallel cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe,” noted Terteryan. “[But] with substantive differences, of course.”

In the deputy minister’s words, CORLEAP is more of a dimension for institutional integration and development of general concepts.

“I’m aware that four to five of our cities [in Armenia] present active projects to the EU,” added Vache Terteryan. “And there is a chance that tomorrow we will have specific projects (…) in the cities of the [Armenian] republic.”

CORLEAP is the political forum of local and regional authorities from the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries.
