YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Ministry of Diaspora will pay the rent for the Armenian Tovmasian family who moved to Armenia from Syria’s Kobani on September 2, Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
“We helped that family, as well as other families, to arrive in Armenia. We can’t provide them with lodgment, since we have no housing stock, but we’ll apparently help them with the rent,” Hakobyan said.
With the support of Archbishop Aram Ateshian, the 17 members of the Tovmasian family, including 11 children, moved to Armenia from Turkey, where they had fled from Kobani. The family temporarily lives in a lodgment in Yerevan’s Silikyan district.
They have already received the status of refugees.
