YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, saw no need to deploy peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Our army guards our borders very securely,” Sahakyan told reporters on Monday. “And at this time, there is no issue of deployment of peacekeepers.”
In the NA speaker’s words, the peacekeepers’ center will just serve as a laboratory for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries.
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group US Co-Chair, Ambassador James Warlick, had recently stated that the deployment of international peacekeeping forces should be a point in the talks toward a comprehensive settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
