YEREVAN. – The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is under control.

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, on Monday told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“As a rule, the combat-readiness and alertness of the [Armenian] Armed Forces is brought to a higher status on holidays for Armeniabecause we know from experience that violations occur on those days,” said Ohanyan. “But today, the situation is under control, there is a relative calm, and our military servicemen fully carry out their task on the first line.”

The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border was tense in early September, as Azerbaijan was shooting at the Armenian military positions and villages on a regular basis.
