Sultan of Oman sent a cable of congratulations to President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of his country's Independence Anniversary.

In his cable, His Majesty Qaboos bin Said has expressed his sincere congratulations along with his best wishes to President Sargsyan and the people of his country, Times of Oman reported.

The Republic of Armenia on Monday marks the 24th anniversary of its independence. A referendum on Armenia’s secession from the USSR and the establishment of an independent state was conducted on September 21, 1991. As a result, 94.99 percent of the country’s citizens voted “for” independence.
