Russian President Vladimir Putting congratulated Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on the country’s Independence Day, promising economic support to the country, the Italian newspaper Il Velino reports, citing the official Kremlin website.  

Vladimir Putin confirmed that the Russian side is ready to back Armenia in urgent social and economic issues, and also expressed willingness to develop the entire set of relations between the allies.

The Russian leader also praised the development of the Russian-Armenian relations both at the bilateral level and in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), OSCE and CIS formats.
