An art exhibition on Armenian Genocide has kicked off in Toulouse city of France. The exhibition will be held in the open alley of France’s southern Midi-Pyrénées region, upon the initiative of the region’s Armenian Association, the French newspaper La Depeche writes.

“The paintings tell about the irreversible outcome and the experienced horror, from late 19th century to the WWI, when changed politics of Turkey accelerated the payoff of the Armenians’ fate.  

The survivors of the tragedy had no choice other then leaving their homeland for all. For many of them Marseille port became the first stop.

President of the Department Council Georges Méric received the Armenian Ambassador to France Mr Viguen Tchitetchian. The interlocutors underscored the integration abilities of the Armenian nation, who managed to enrich their host country, at the same time preserving their thousand-year-old historic memory. Méric and Tchitetchian noted that unfortunately, this was only the first bloodshed of the 20th century,” the newspaper writes.
