YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Tuesday met in Beijing with the Premier of the State Council of China, Li Keqiang.

First, the Chinese top official thanked Abrahamyan for accepting his invitation to China and attending the Eurasian Economic Forum, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia. He highly praised Armenian-Chinese relations, and expressed a conviction that Abrahamyan’s current visit to China will contribute to the further development of bilateral collaboration between the two countries.

Abrahamyan, for his part, noted that the development of relations with China is a priority of Armenia’s foreign policy. He likewise expressed a conviction that his trip to China will give new impetus to the strengthening of Armenian-Chinese ties.

The premiers of the two countries underscored the development of cooperation in several domains, and the implementation of specific joint projects.

The Armenian PM noted that Armenia-China trade and economic relations have progressed in recent years. The Chinese Premier, in turn, stressed that there is productive cooperation between the two countries in all domains, and China stands ready to further deepen this collaboration.

The Armenian and Chinese PMs also discussed the investment plans toward construction of the Iran-Armenia railway link, and completion of the North-South Road Corridor in Armenia.

The Chinese Premier expressed readiness to implement joint projects in a number of domains.

He added that the scholarships of Armenian youth studying in China will be increased next year.

At the end of the talk, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan invited Premier Li Keqiang to pay official visit to Armenia, and the invitation was accepted with pleasure.
