YEREVAN. – Panic broke out across the border settlements of Azerbaijan, many villages are being abandoned, Armenian MP Gagik Melikyan said.
Tension is felt on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan which is connected with the harvest of grapes in the border areas.
“However, there is absolutely no panic in the border villages of Armenia,” said Melikyan, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia.
Asked about the Karabakh peace talks, the MP did not share the opinion that no progress has been registered.
“God willing, the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place,” he said, adding that Azerbaijan, however, has not reported about Aliyev's possible trip to New York. “If the meeting takes place, I think it will be a progress,” he concluded.
