YEREVAN. - It’s high time we gave an adequate assessment and call to order the leadership of Azerbaijan, Armenia’s Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan told Tert.am.

Responding to the question on his opinion about the shelling at Armenia’s civilian residents before the meeting of Armenia and Azerbaijani FMs in New York, Kocharyan said: “The provocative actions of Azerbaijan, aimed at the breakdown of possible progress in the negotiation process, have become customary prior to the high-level meetings held under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group.

And choosing elderly women of civilian residents as targets of firearms and mortars is indicative of the cave mentality and treatment of Azerbaijan, which found its expression in axing a sleeping Armenian man and making the insidious killer a hero, as well as demonstratively torturing to death an [Armenian] civilian who had got lost.

It’s high time we gave an adequate assessment and call to order the leadership of Azerbaijan which primarily threatens the future of its own people.”
