YEREVAN. – Firing at civilians is a brazen and impudent step by Azerbaijan; but our response should not be equivalent, but greater.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Gagik Minasyan told the aforementioned to reporters on Friday.
“Azerbaijan’s destructive policy is due to [the fact] that the international community is not consistent, and it doesn’t obligate Azerbaijan the norms that are acceptable to all,” said Minasyan. “After these flagrant incidents, the international community should hold Azerbaijan’s hand, and the names of the guilty should always be noted.”
The RPA deputy also stated that if the Armenian side makes a more daring retaliation, Azerbaijan’s view, according to which it can defeat the Armenian side on the account of quantity, will fade away.
As per Gagik Minasyan, the international community should politically isolate Azerbaijan.
As reported earlier, three Armenian civilians—two from Berdavan village and one from Paravakar town—died during Thursday evening’s shelling by Azerbaijan at the border settlements of Armenia’s Tavush Province.
All three victims were women; two of them were elderly, whereas the other was 41 years old.
And four others are injured. Three of them are still in hospital, whereas the other has been discharged from hospital.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia had stated that the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan has become relatively stable as a result of the actions taken by the Armenian Armed Forces.
There are no casualties or injuries among the Armenian military servicemen.
According to the MOD’s information, the Azerbaijani side, however, does have casualties and injuries.
