YEREVAN. – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), by making such toothless statements, does not contribute to the establishment of peace.

The secretary of Armenia’s opposition “Heritage” National Assembly Faction, Tevan Poghosyan, speaking to Armenian News-NEWS.am, expressed such a view regarding the latest OSCE statement.

“The OSCE sees very well to which party [of the Karabakh conflict] the aggravation of the situation on the border is advantageous; and it’s Azerbaijan,” said Poghosyan. “They [i.e. the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs], with such a toothless statement, don’t contribute in any way to the establishment of peace, or at least giving of the name of the culprit.”

He added that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are being dishonest.

As per the opposition MP, two of the parties to this conflict—that is, Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh—have repeatedly stated that they stand ready for the introduction of any mechanisms.

“If the OSCE is speaking about mechanisms, it should definitely note because of whom they don’t work, since the Armenian party agrees and is ready to help for the application of these mechanisms,” said Tevan Poghosyan.
