YEREVAN. – At the Saturday’s sixth meeting of the Armenian State Commission on Coordination of the events dedicated to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia, Gagik Harutyunyan, formally submitted to President Serzh Sargsyan, who is also chairman of this commission, the portfolio of legal matters on the Armenian Genocide.

Harutyunyan, speaking to reporters within the framework of the meeting, recalled that he had presented a report on this issue at the previous meeting of this state commission. 

He informed that a scientific analytical center has been established to coordinate the respective work.

“Armenian international lawyers are also involved here,” noted the CC chief judge. “They were able to develop a portfolio of legal matters regarding the Armenian Genocide (…). [But] this portfolio is not subject to disclosure.”

In his words, this collection will be discussed on November 20 and 21, and as a result, some details will be made public.

“Based on the discussions, we will present a concept, and based on which, further work will be conducted,” concluded Gagik Harutyunyan.  

He added, however, that this is a perennial work that needs to be carried out in several dimensions.
