YEREVAN. – The international community, Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic; NKR) are dealing with a country—represented by Azerbaijan—, which has adopted terrorist actions and which avows to the precepts of unaccountable and unbridled permissiveness.
The Public Council affiliated to the Minister of Defense of Armenia has issued a statement with such content.
“Azerbaijan, by provoking armed conflicts and escalating tension on the border line, basically eliminates the ceasefire and replaces it with continuous provocations and political blackmail, thereby undermining the mediation efforts toward a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
“Despite all these, the political self-determination of Artsakh is an established and irreversible fact,” the statement also reads, in particular.
Azerbaijan shells the border settlements of Armenia’s Tavush Province on a regular basis in recent days. As a result, three civilians were killed on September 24.
And on September 25, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces shelled one of the northeastern protection areas of the NKR Defense Army unit. The fire was opened from Turkish-made reactive rocket propelled howitzers (TR-107). Consequently, NKR Defense Army soldiers Norayr Khachatryan (born in 1995), Robert Mkrtchyan (born in 1995), Harut Hakobyan (born in 1997), and Karen Shahinyan (born in 1997) died from shrapnel wound.
