YEREVAN. – The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has no military solution; it can be settled solely around the negotiation table, and only through peace.

The Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Volinkin, stated the aforementioned speaking to reporters on Tuesday. He added that the efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group and the entire international community are aimed at this objective.

“So, I hope that there will be no escalation [of tension in Karabakh],”stressed Volinkin.

In his words, what has occurred in recent days on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact causes deep regret.

Ivan Volinkin, responding to the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter’s query on what is missing for the OSCE Minsk Group, or what is not done to prevent the regular ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan, highlighted: “The OSCE Minsk Group is a mediation body, nothing more. What’s important, of course, is the negotiations between the two countries.”
